Indian wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy Ltd (NSE:SUZLON) on Friday announced a firm order tied to a 100.8-MW project in Tamil Nadu from a first-time customer.

Local renewables developer Everrenew Energy Pvt Ltd has contracted Suzlon to supply 48 units of its S120-2.1 MW wind turbine generators with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular tower and to supervise the execution and commissioning of the project at Velliyanani Phase II in Karur district and Vengaimandalam in Trichy district.

The wind park is expected to be completed in March 2024. Once up and running, it will generate electricity for captive consumption and to supply customers in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.

Suzlon notes that every one of its turbines is manufactured in India and features between 80% and 90% local contect.
