US solar tracker provider Array Technologies (NASDAQ:ARRY) today unveiled plans for a new USD-50-million (EUR 47m) manufacturing campus in its home state of New Mexico.
The Albuquerque-based company has opted to locate its new 216,000-sq-ft (20,077 sq m) campus in Bernalillo County, on Albuquerque’s west side, with construction expected to start early next year. Array said the expansion will allow it to hire almost 100 new employees over the next several years.
The state will provide USD 2.5 million in economic assistance from the Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) job-creation fund. The company will also receive USD 250,000 of additional LEDA funds each from the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, along with partial property-tax abatement through an Industrial Revenue Bond with Bernalillo County.
Array has operations in New Mexico and Arizona, as well as in Australia, Brazil, England, South Africa and Spain.
“Together with our partners at the State and Bernalillo County, we are working to safeguard jobs that support Albuquerque families,” said Albuquerque mayor Tim Keller. “Retaining companies and supporting expansion is an essential part of keeping good jobs local and protecting the future of our economy.”
