ODM Partners tracked 151 people moves in Q3 2023, among Investors, Investment Banks and Financial Advisors in the UK, a similar number of hires made in Q2 2023.
John Laing made two significant appointments in Q3, with Andrew Truscott leaving Citi to join as CEO, and Luke Gorton joined as Head of Europe. Other notable news include Henrik Tordrup launching Glentra Capital, who achieved a first close of EUR 443 million for their first fund.
The general market sentiment is that 2023 has been a challenging year for fundraising, which in turn has resulted in fewer hires throughout 2023 compared to 2022. However, as we move towards the end of 2023, there are more optimistic signs that 2024 will be a more favourable environment for fundraising and deals. Which in turn should result in more hiring in 2024.
