December 13 (Renewables Now) – Renewable power producer Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) has secured 11 projects totalling 180 MW of wind and solar power in the French government’s PPE2 technology-neutral tender.

Specifically, the company was awarded two solar projects of a combined 42.1 MWp and nine wind schemes, totalling 137.8 MW.

Located in the Grand Est region, the 19.3-MWp Isle-sur-Marne and the 22.8-MWp Morhange 2 solar projects are expected to enter the construction phase in 2023. The latter is an extension of Neoen’s photovoltaic (PV) farm based in the same town.

The wind projects are spread across the regions of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Normandie, Grand Est, Bourgogne – Franche Comte and Pays de la Loire.

Neoen pointed out that while the construction of the 12-MW Eure wind farm is set to begin next year, the other eight projects are currently awaiting final clearance.

When complete, the wind plants should be capable of generating some 300 GWh per year, enough to meet the demand of 120,000 people.

The technology-neutral tender under the PPE2 subsidy programme in France awarded 34 projects with a combined capacity of 501.1 MW and solar accounted for about 180 MW of the total.
