October 10 (Renewables Now) – Hydrogen Utopia International Plc (AQSE:HUI), which specialises in non-recyclable waste plastics to hydrogen technology, on Monday unveiled a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Polish company to develop a plastic waste processing plant in Poland that would produce hydrogen, electricity and heat.

The MoU is between HUI’s Polish subsidiary, Hydropolis United, and Torun-based Elkard Zoo Sp K, which provides power and electrical systems for public utilities, industry and residential applications. The companies plan to immediately start preparing for a HUI plant by working to find a suitable site, seek European or national grants or subsidies and prepare environmental reports and ancillary documentation.

The partners are expected to share the costs and to set up a special purpose vehicle for the financing and operation of the facility in due course.

In July, HUI agreed heads of terms with Powerhouse Energy Group plc (LON:PHE) to jointly develop in Ireland what is expected to become HUI’s first operational full-scale waste plastic-to-hydrogen facility in Europe.
