Enviromena has brought onstream its first UK solar farm, the 25.4-MW Three Maids Hill project in Winchester, England, the UK-headquartered clean energy company said on Monday.
Spread across 110 acres (44.5 ha), the solar park uses 47,088 bifacial modules and is expected to generate enough electricity to cover the needs of 9,500 homes, according to the announcement.
Three Maids became Enviromena’s fully consented development site in Europe when the project obtained planning approval in the summer of 2021. The firm, which also has offices in Italy and Dubai, has since secured further planning consents on solar and energy storage projects in the UK and Italy.
“We now look forward to providing operations and maintenance services for the life of the array,” said Enviromena’s chief operating officer Gary Hales.
The Three Maids solar project was acquired by Blackfinch Energy in 2021.
