Plumbing and heating products distributor Ferguson PLC (NYSE:FERG) will purchase power from a portion of Engie North America’s 153-MW Century Oak wind project, which is currently under construction in Callahan County, Texas.
The companies announced today they have signed a 65-MW virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) for the project. The contract is expected to match a significant part of Ferguson’s annual electricity use in the US and Canada, contributing to the company’s efforts to reduce its environmental footprint.

The 45-turbine wind farm is expected to be completed by the end of the year. It is part of the almost 7 GW of wind, solar and storage capacity that French utility Engie SA (EPA:ENGI) has in operation or construction across North America.
The deal between Ferguson and Engie was aided by Schneider Electric (EPA:SU) via its VPPA advisory services.
