“Transitioning to renewable energy sources is an integral part of our climate action strategy,” said Jesus Gonzalez, president of CEMEX South, Central America, and the Caribbean. He added that Cemex remains committed to becoming a net-zero CO2 company.

Under its Future in Action programme, Cemex aims at a 40% reduction of its specific net CO2 emissions in cement by the end of the decade.

Recently, the company also inaugurated an alternative fuel plant at its Rugby cement production facility in the UK that uses household residual and commercial waste.
