American-Irish power management company Eaton (NYSE:ETN) has agreed to source renewable power from the North American unit of Italian utility Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) in order to cover 100% of the electricity load of its production facility in Sherman, Texas.

Enel North America said on Tuesday that the two companies have signed a retail electricity supply agreement under which Eaton will buy electricity and the associated renewable energy certificates (RECs) from the 500-MW High Lonesome wind farm in West Texas.

The announcement did not specify the exact volume contracted by the customer.

Enel and Eaton have been collaborating since 2016 during which period the energy company has developed micro-grids and distributed energy resources (DERs), and provided demand response services. In turn, Eaton has been delivering engineering support and equipping Enel’s renewable energy portfolio with hardware. This includes the High Lonesome facility.
