Colombian power company Celsia on Tuesday reported a double-digit growth of consolidated revenues and EBITDA for 2022, but its net profit fell by 18.7% year-on-year on higher financial costs and higher taxes.
Revenues for the year came at COP 5.58 trillion (USD 1.13bn/EUR 1.07bn)), up 35.9%, while EBITDA rose by 30.1% to COP 1.78 trillion with an EBITDA margin of 32%, the company said.
After paying 65.5% more in taxes, Celsia was left with a consolidated net profit of COP 442.7 billion, it said.
The company is a vertically integrated utility in Colombia and a power producer and trader in Central America — Panama, Costa Rica and Honduras. It generated 65 GWh of solar power in Colombia in 2022, up by 45.9% year-on-year. In Central America, Celsia’s wind power production fell by 12.2% to 166 GWh, while solar generation increased by 31.4% to 46 GWh.
Celsia’s other generation assets are conventional hydro and thermal power plants.
Celsia also runs four investment platforms in partnerships with other entities. Its C2 Energia platform with Cubico Sustainable Investments, which invests in 8-MWp-plus solar projects, closed the year with revenues of COP 26.4 billion (+57%) and EBITDA of COP 20.2 billion (+51.7%).
