US solar and storage developer Clenera LLC, a subsidiary of Israeli renewables developer Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd (TLV:ENLT), said Friday its 105-MW DC Apex Solar project in Montana is now online.

The project, located in Beaverhead County, achieved commercial operations on August 4.

This marks the first joint project completed by Clenera since its acquisition by Enlight in August 2021. The company also highlighted that the project was delivered on schedule.

The Apex Solar facility, equivalent in scale to the largest solar project in Montana, will deliver its generation to NorthWestern Energy under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA). It is expected to produce enough electricity to cover the annual needs of 13,500 households.

Clenera is developing more projects in Montana, including a scheme immediately adjacent to Apex.

The developer closed financing for the project in September 2022. Bank of America and NORD/LB provided construction financing, while Huntington National Bank is providing long-term financing via sale and leaseback tax equity financing.
