Peru generated 6.2% of its electricity from non-conventional renewables in August, the Peruvian ministry of energy and mining said reporting the latest estimates.

The combined output from the non-conventional renewables in the country — solar, wind and bioenergy plants — rose by 5% year-on-year to 320 GWh. In the same month in 2022, the renewables share was 6.1%.

Total gross electricity production across the nation increased by 3.7% to 5,189 GWh in August.
