Non-conventional renewables accounted for 34.2% of Chile’s total electricity production in June, Chilean national energy commission CNE said in its latest report on the sector.
The share was slightly down from May’s 34.7%.
June saw gross electricity generation from renewable sources fall by 1.2% month-on-month to 2,411 GWh in June. The monthly output was higher by 33.8% compared to the same period a year ago, according to the CNE’s figures.
Total gross electricity production in the country rose by 0.1% month-on-month to 7,045 GWh, owing to a 0.8% increase in conventional generation.

The total net installed non-conventional renewable energy capacity rose to 12,850 MW in June from 12,838 MW in May.
