Norwegian state-owned clean power producer Statkraft AS has agreed to off-take 48 GWh of solar energy per year from a pair of solar farms that Sonnedix Power Holdings is building in Italy.

Sonnedix said on Thursday that the parties had signed a ten-year pay-as-produced power purchase agreement (PPA), which will see Statkraft procure production output from two solar photovoltaic plants totalling 34 MWp. The facilities are currently under construction in the region of Lazio, west-central Italy.

The latest is the third overall collaboration between Statkraft and Sonnedix in Europe and their second PPA in Italy. Last year, the companies signed PPAs for 22 MWp of Sonnedix solar farms in Italy.

Sonnedix, a global solar projects developer and an independent power producer, currently has over 2,000 MW of capacity between plants in operation, under construction or in development in Italy, the company said.
