Lynher Energy has acquired a 26.1-MW solar project in Shropshire in the West Midlands region of England from Low Carbon Alliance Ltd and landlord Cheswell Grange, it was announced today.

The buyer is a joint venture between alternative credit and real asset manager Napier Park Global Capital and UK renewable energy firm Ethical Power.

Low Carbon Alliance and Cheswell Grange started developing the Twitch Hill Solar Farm project in 2020, as part of a regenerative and environmental plan, and obtained planning permission in July 2022. The project is located on agricultural land between Lilleshall and Newport that has not been used for crops. It will now be repurposed for the solar installation, which will allow for sheep grazing beneath and between the solar panels.

Ethical Power this week also announced the acquisition of the development business of Public Power Solutions Ltd (PPS), including a 250-MW solar and storage project pipeline.
