July 13 (Renewables Now) – Dutch investment company DIF Capital Partners on Tuesday said that, through its DIF CIF III fund, it will acquire a majority stake and provide capital to Amsterdam-based mobile batteries provider Greener Power Solutions BV.

The funding will allow Greener to grow its battery fleet to achieve its growth plans in the Netherlands and abroad.

According to an announcement by Greener, the battery rental firm has secured EUR 45 million (USD 45.2m) in capital as a result of the deal. Currently, it has a fleet of 60 batteries with a total capacity of 20 MWh.

Greener provides off- and on-grid power services to customers such as construction sites, customers awaiting grid upgrades, events and temporary electrical vehicle (EV) charging sites.

“We believe that temporary power supply will play a great role in the energy transition and we aim to make a significant contributions to the acceleration of this transition,” said Greener chief executive Dieter Castelein.
