May 3 (Renewables Now) – Energa Operator SA, part of Polish oil refiner PKN Orlen (WAR:PKN), has connected nearly 30,000 micro installations with a combined capacity of 255 MW to its network during the first three months of 2022, it said recently.

This brings the total number of micro installations connected to the company’s network to almost 194,000, representing more than 1.5 GW of capacity. Most of them are solar panels but also include other generation sources of below 50 kW such as wind turbines, biogas installations and hydroelectric facilities.

In the last two years, the number of this type of systems has increased almost six times, according to the announcement.

Energa is one of the largest electricity distributors in Poland. It operates in the north and central parts of the country.
